This book is such a wonderful resource for kids and the adults who care for them. Stand Up takes on a tough subject—bullying and self-confidence—but explains it in a way that’s easy for children to understand and apply in real life. I really appreciated how the author emphasizes that bullies often act out of insecurity, which helps kids see the situation from a new perspective while also giving them the courage to respond in healthier, braver ways.

What I love most is that this book doesn’t just focus on “stopping bullies.” It focuses on building children up from the inside—helping them grow in self-confidence, reduce their anxiety, and feel more capable of handling challenges. The strategies are simple, relatable, and practical, which makes it easy for kids to start using them right away.

As a parent/teacher/counselor (or even just someone who cares about raising strong, kind kids), I think this book is an excellent tool. It encourages children not only to stand up for themselves, but also to support their peers and even adults when they see unfair treatment. That message of courage and kindness is something we need more of in the world today.

I’d highly recommend Stand Up to any parent, teacher, or professional who wants to give children the tools to face bullying with confidence and compassion. It’s empowering, thoughtful, and could truly make a difference in a child’s life.
